The well is supposed to be drilled on the territory of the enterprise at the address: Tula, M. Gorky 6. The absolute marks of the earth’s surface are 180 m.

Geological structure of the work site.

The geological structure of the area under consideration includes: technogenic loams Q 8 m thick, Upper Tula clays 17 m and Lower Tula sands 22 m (C1jp), Upa limestones (Upa aquifer) 20 m C1up, Malev clays exposed 3 m C1ml.

The hydrogeological conditions of the area where the projected well is located are assessed as difficult due to the proximity of the erosion of the early Tula time. In the roof of the target Upinsky aquifer, watered sands occur, increasing the operational reserves of the Upinsky aquifer.

Water-bearing rocks are limestones.

The nearest are the water intakes of the Arsenal and Tulasantekhnika plants with a total water withdrawal from the Upinsky aquifer of about 2-3 thousand m3 / day. Over the past 5 years, water withdrawal has decreased from 3.3 thousand m3/day to 1.5 thousand m3/day, which is associated with a reduction in production volumes at these enterprises and, accordingly, with a decrease in water consumption.

The position of the level in production wells of departmental water intakes corresponds to a mark of 140-145 m of absolute height, which is 10 m above the roof of water-bearing rocks at the well design site for the Strela Research Institute and corresponds to a depth of about 35-37 m. its operation by the water intakes of the city. The complex depression of the level surface of the Upinsky aquifer, which has formed to date, is of a stationary nature.

The protection of groundwater is understood as the degree of their isolation from the possibility of penetration into the aquifer of various kinds of pollutants. One of the main factors of protection is the presence in the geological section of low permeable rocks with insulating properties. These rocks include mainly clays, marls, monolithic rocks. To a lesser extent, loams prevent the penetration of pollutants from the surface of the earth (except for heavy moraine).

Within the territory under consideration, up to the roof of the aquifer – 35 m – there are Quaternary loams – loams of 8 meters, and Upper Tula clays of clay with a thickness of 17 m.

Based on the data on the geological structure of the territory, we calculate the time of vertical filtration t vert of pollution coming from the earth’s surface to the roof of the Upinsko-Yasnaya Polyana aquifer complex using the formula:

– thickness of weakly permeable deposits (17.0 m);

– active porosity of low permeable deposits (0.01);

– clay filtration coefficient (0.0001);

∆H – in this case, the difference between the elevations of the earth’s surface and the roof of the Upinsko-Yasnaya Polyana aquifer complex (35.0 m).

The calculation showed that the vertical filtration time is 825 days. Thus, at the location of the projected well, the aquifer is reliably protected from bacterial pollution and not protected from chemical pollution.
