Goal: learn how to add a new sprite to the project and create animation for it

Exercise. It is necessary to create an animation of a flying ghost (if the “right arrow” key is pressed, the ghost flies to the right, if the “left arrow” key is pressed, the ghost flies to the left).

Task execution technology.

1. Launch the Scratch program.

2. Remove Sprite 1 from the project, we won’t need it for work.

3. Add a new sprite to the project by clicking the select new object from file button. Select a sprite from the Fantasy folder, the name of the sprite is Ghost1.

4. For the selected sprite, write the following script.

5. Put the project in demo mode.

6. Press either the left arrow on your keyboard or the right arrow to start the project. Make sure the project is working properly.

Additional task 1. Add the ability to make the ghost move when you press the “up arrow” and “down arrow” buttons.

Additional task number 2. Create an animation of a walking person, control buttons, movement style, background and sound to choose yourself.

Practical work No. 5

“Adding Sound Effects to a Project”

Purpose: to learn how to add sound effects to the project, adjust them.

Exercise. It is necessary to create an animation of a dancing person to the music.

Task execution technology.

1. Launch the Scratch program.

2. Remove Sprite 1 from the project, we won’t need it for work.

3. Add a sprite from the people folder called breakdancer-1 to the project.

4. For the new sprite, add three more costumes breakdancer-2, breakdancer-3, breakdancer-4. You should end up with something like the one shown in the picture.

5. Make the Scene active, go to the sounds tab. Using the Import button, add a new DrumSet1 sound from the Music Loops folder to the project.

6. Add the DrumSet2 sound to the project in the same way.

7. Make Sprite 1 active and write the following script for it.

10. Click on the green flag to start the project. Make sure yours is working properly.

“Creating complex animations in Scratch with a single sprite”

Purpose: to consolidate the skills of working with one sprite (changing costumes, setting up a complex movement).

Exercise. You must select a background. The cat goes from left to right to the end, says hello, turns 90 degrees, waits 3 seconds, comes back, turns into a bat (changes costume) and flies diagonally, asks at the end “Is everything clear?”.

Task execution technology.

1. Launch the Scratch program.

2. In the objects, select the Scene.

3. Go to the Backgrounds tab, click the Import button and select from the proposed list: Outdoors – all sports…

4. Remove Background 1 from the list of backgrounds by clicking on the cross.

5. Move the cat to the lower left corner.

6. Go to the Costumes tab, delete Costume 2. From the Animals folder, import bat2-a, bat2-b costumes.

7. Go to the Sounds tab, from the Effect folder import the Rattle sound.

8. Double click on Sprite 1, and in the Scripts area, make a program in which the cat goes from left to right to the end, says hello, turns 90 degrees, waits 3 seconds, comes back, turns into a bat (changes costume) and flies diagonally, asks at the end “Is everything clear?”.
