When approaching the train, the driver must stop the locomotive at a distance of 10-15 meters from the first car with an auxiliary brake.

The wagon inspector or an employee entrusted with this duty by the owner of the infrastructure is obliged to make sure that the automatic coupler of the first wagon works and that the lever of the automatic coupler uncoupling mechanism is in the normal position.

At the command of the inspector, the driver must set the locomotive in motion and drive up to the train at a speed of no more than 3 km / h, ensuring smooth coupling of automatic couplers. After coupling the locomotive with the laboratory car, the reliability of the coupling is checked only by the signal branches of the automatic coupler locks. The driver, after changing the control cabins, is obliged to adjust the driver’s crane conv. No. 394 on the value of the charging pressure, according to the table. V.1 and turn on the locomotive air distributor to the loaded mode.

After purging by the assistant driver (three times opening of the end valve of the brake line), the driver gives the command to the assistant driver to open the end valves, while opening the end valve from the beginning at the locomotive, and then on the first car. After opening the valves and supplying air to the brake line of the car, the driver is obliged to transfer the control element of the driver’s crane briefly to position I for 1-2 seconds. The driver, together with the wagon inspector, is obliged to check the correct coupling of the automatic couplers along the signal branches of the locks and the correct connection of the sleeves, as well as the opening of the end valves between the locomotive and the first wagon.

After the train brake network is fully charged, the driver and wagon inspectors, having coordinated their actions, proceed to complete testing of the brakes. The inspector of the lead group must be in the driver’s cab at the same time.

Before carrying out a full test of the brakes, check the integrity of the brake line of the train and make sure that compressed air is free to pass through it. Check the integrity of the brake line with a fully charged brake network of the train. To do this, the inspector of the tail group cars is obliged to notify the locomotive driver about the start of the inspection and open the last end valve of the tail car, and after the emergency braking accelerators of the air distributors of the cars are activated, close it.

After the train brake network is fully charged to the set pressure, the driver and the wagon inspector must check the density of the train brake network.

To check the tightness of the brake network, it is necessary to close the combined valve or the double thrust valve and after 20 s after closing the valve, measure the pressure drop in the brake line; pressure drop is allowed by no more than 0.02 MPa (0.2 kgf / cm 2 ) for 1 min or 0.05 MPa (0.5 kgf / sq. cm) for 2.5 min, after the measurement, open the combined valve .

Perform a full test of the brakes, for which it is necessary to transfer the control element of the driver’s crane from the train to the V position and reduce the pressure in the surge tank by 0.05-0.06 MPa (0.5-0.6 kgf / cm2) with further setting the crane handle the driver in the IV position (overlapping with food). Not earlier than 120 seconds (2 minutes) after the performed braking, the car inspectors are required to check the condition and operation of the brakes throughout the entire train for each car and make sure that they work normally for braking when the brake cylinder rods come out and the shoes are pressed against the wheel tread.

Upon completion of checking the operation of automatic brakes, release the brakes, and the inspectors of the cars must check the release of the brakes for each car when the brake cylinder rod moves and the blocks move away from the wheels.

After completing the full testing of automatic brakes in the train, the inspector must hand over to the locomotive driver a certificate of form VU – 45 on the provision of the train with brakes and their proper operation.

On the way, after applying emergency braking and stopping, the driver must: close the combined valve, move the handle of the driver’s valve No. 394, 395 to position II, charge the surge tank to the charging pressure, and then open the combined valve. The time until the locomotive is set in motion after emergency braking is at least 1.5 minutes.

Full testing of automatic brakes when working with freight trains equipped with air distributors of Western European types KE, Oerlikon, DAKO on a track of 1435 mm.

Before starting a full test of the auto brakes, check the integrity of the brake line of the train. Check the integrity of the brake line in the following order: after the message of the inspector of the cars about the start of the check and the opening of the end valve of the tail car, the driver must transfer the control element of the driver’s crane to position III. After the locomotive’s automatic brakes are activated and the pressure in the brake line and surge tank is reduced, the control element of the driver’s crane is transferred to position IV. Then the driver is obliged to release the automatic brakes by setting the control body of the driver’s crane to the train position.

– Next, the ICP worker installs a measuring device for measuring pressure in the brake line of the tail car;

When testing the brakes by one ICP worker or compiler, the pressure should be measured before density is measured in the second position.

– The driver produces a stage of braking by the control element of the driver’s crane by reducing the pressure in the surge tank by 0.5-0.6 kgf / cm 2 (0.05-0.06 MPa) with the subsequent transfer of the control element of the driver’s crane to the IV position, informing about the conduct braking to the inspector of the tail group cars.

– The inspector of the tail group cars, having made sure by the output of the brake cylinder rods and the pressing of the brake pads to the wheel rolling surface that the brakes of the 2 tail cars are activated, transmits an instruction to the locomotive driver to release the auto brakes by measuring the release time of the auto brakes at the last two cars via radio communication through the inspector of the head group at the tail of the train, the driver releases the brakes.

In trains with a length of 100 axles or less, the operation to control the operation of the brakes in two tail cars with a discharge of 0.5-0.6 kgf/cm 2 is performed, and the measurement of the release time of the automatic brakes of the two tail cars is not performed.

– After restoring the pressure in the brake line to the charging one, the driver, together with the worker of the ICP, the driver checks the density of the brake line of the train with the train position of the control element of the driver’s crane, the check is carried out after the compressors are turned off when the maximum pressure in the main locomotive tanks is reached and the subsequent decrease in this pressure by 0, 04-0.05 MPa (0.4-0.5 kgf/cm2) with measurement of the time of further pressure reduction by 0.05 MPa (0.5 kgf/cm2).

– Measurement of density in position II with a train of up to 10 wagons inclusive is allowed to be carried out in the following order:

– after turning off the compressors upon reaching the maximum pressure in the main locomotive tanks and subsequent reduction of this pressure by 0.02-0.04 MPa (0.2-0.4 kgf/cm 2 ), the driver, together with the wagon inspector, measures the density.

If, after 2 minutes, the measured density of this composition corresponds to Table IV.1 of Regulation No. 151, then the driver stops measuring the density and the wagon inspector records the actual value of the pressure drop in the supply line for 120 seconds in the VU-45 certificate, then the brakes are tested. Measurement of density in the IV position is carried out in a similar way. Example: ( 0.3 -120 / IV -0.2-120)

– at the end of the above operation, the charging pressure in the brake line of the tail car is measured. The pressure measurement of the train should be carried out after the brake line of the entire train is fully charged, after this operation, the ICP worker closes the release valve of the brake line of the last car and removes the measuring device from the brake line sleeve. The pressure reading in the TM of the tail car in the train position of the control element of the driver’s crane should not differ by more than:

– with a train length of up to 300 axles – no more than 0.3 kgf / cm 2 from the charger;

– Next, test the brakes, for which the control body of the driver’s crane should be transferred from the train to the V position and reduce the pressure in the surge tank by 0.06-0.07 MPa (0.6-0.7 kgf / cm2) with the subsequent transfer of the control handle body of the crane operator in the IV position. Not earlier than 120 seconds (2 minutes) after the performed braking, the car inspectors are required to check the condition and operation of the brakes throughout the entire train for each car and make sure that they work normally for braking when the brake cylinder rods come out and the shoes are pressed against the wheel tread. At the same time, the locomotive driver, after setting the control element of the driver’s crane in position IV (with the compressors turned off and the maximum pressure in the main locomotive tanks reached, followed by a decrease in this pressure by 0.04-0.05 MPa (0.4-0.5 kgf / cm 2 ) with the measurement of the time of a further decrease in pressure by 0.05 MPa (0.5 kgf / cm 2 ) measures the density of the brake network of the train, which should not differ from the density of the brake network of the train with the train position of the driver’s crane handle by more than 10% in direction of reduction.

Upon completion of checking the operation of the train brakes and measuring the density of the brake line, the driver releases the brakes.

Car inspectors should check the release of the brakes for each car of the train for the departure of the brake cylinder rod and the departure of the brake shoes from the wheels. Car air distributors must be installed for use in freight trains – the handle against the designation G (T or M). If there are modes according to the load:

– Empty – PROZ;

– Loaded – LAD I (or LAD II).

After completing the full testing of automatic brakes in the train, the inspector must hand over to the driver of the leading locomotive a certificate of form VU – 45 on the provision of the train with brakes and their proper operation. Responsibility for the accuracy of the data of the VU-45 certificate is borne by the wagon inspectors, and in the absence of wagon inspectors, the persons who are entrusted with this duty.
